You win 1 tournament or make top 5 and then all of a sudden you're in the mediocre group the next 20+ tournaments without changing anything. It's easy to know you hit a perfect shot (especially chipping and pitching and shot view), but if you've holed out or finished too well recently, the wind, ball spin or flagstick all of a sudden say "mmm no" to holing out again and give you a 900 birdie. Let us pull the flag at least when chipping. Can't tell you how many times the flag has screwed me over.
It's fun until you realize the algorithm is in control. I don't want to over explain, but when the game decides you're losing, your ball will roll way too long into the rough. Or they'll make it bounce in a ridiculous manner off the green. It really feels like they're trying to drain your coins so you have to buy more to play and be competitive. All games try to make money, but changing the physics to do it is not something I'll ever support.
Love the game play. There's enough "realism"to provide challenge, but not enough to overwhelm...i.e., club choice, power nuance, etc. Do wish there better descriptions for some of the pins. There are those where it's a no-brainer where I would use them, but there are a few where I am struggling to find a use. A way to trade or sell back some would useful.
Great game I love to play it. The only thing about it when it comes to playing is they seem to try to make you spend money. That is exspcaily when yo shoot a shot you add back spine the sight doesn't show you the green total picture. Then there is the time you have to setup your shot on the sight before you are out of time and you loose your shot.
Game is fun. Events are awesome and often. My only (big) complain is the greens/putting. Both the shooting and camera angles are a joke! Even if you aim perfectly and follow the line, you are not guaranteed it goes in. Also doesn't let you zoom out or change the angle, so you can better study the green. THAT ALONE takes all the fun and damages a great game. Do better!
Almost great, but a few things hold it back. The worst is greens. They really need to put slope indicators when you are not on the green. The camera angle is often not good enough to tell what's happening especially when you are trying to land from 200+ yards away. I love the way scoring works for tournaments, but they don't use it for head to head matches. Why? I barely do them anymore because you always tie. It's unnecessary and extremely boring.
This game is algmarythmic play. It doesn't matter how a shot is hit, it will play based on a pre established win/loss cycle. This showed prevalent when witnessing stops at a hole, forcing a ball to bounce off an invisible wall. Club stats are designed specifically to only one good club per stat unless spending large amounts of money to upgrade. Golfballs you buy are not retained, only available one round when used. This game brings bad rep to golf enthusiasts who want a good downtime game.

I will change my rating to 5 stars when you fix the game and stop cheating on putt-putt when the ball rolls down the hill. You literally made it where the ball slows down suddenly, or sometimes even STOPS, for no reason whatsoever!!!! Would've been a 5 star game otherwise! Also, most people use tablets to calculate the wind to get an almost perfect shot! I use my phone because I don't like cheating, and for the ones that don't cheat it is TOTALLY UNFAIR!!!
Fun but there is most definitely a learning curve. It would be nice if they implemented more of a tutorial.. especially explaining wind and how to adjust for it. I think the lack of knowledge and the fact that you are forced to go outside the game to figure out how to play it deters a lot of newer players from committing to the game. Which is a shame because it's fun once you get a decent grasp on how to play. With all the money you all make, maybe it's time to remedy that.
Avoid!! After a while, especially after you hand over money for some upgrades you find out how terrible this game really is. Cheating is rampant. The same handful of players finish at the top of every tournament with impossibly low scores. I saw one where a player aced all of the par 3s, made two double eagles, and eagled all of the par 4s except three. The final straw for me was a tournament where the final round was on snow and ice with obstacles everywhere. NOT FUN!!
Horrible app... controls are super sensitive... don't download this... waste of time Starts out great but over time the ball goes wherever it wants. The idea of playing this game is to get better... obviously in real life, you have more control of the game... the clubs, the choice of balls, etc.. not here, as a beginner it's fine for a day or two but then you're thrusted to play people who have massive playing time over you. It's geared to make you spend money... luckily I didn't scam much.....
Overall this is a fun golf game. Plenty to challenge folks when playing. Club progression is slow especially if you're playing at the higher tiers of the game. You get plenty of opportunities for the slightly better than basic golf balls. I do wish that the royales happened more frequently as it's hard to get time to play one and since they're tied to the ultimate tournament it's hard to earn points in those. I'm giving it three stars because of the incessant pop-ups on the home screen.
Took much longer to get to that point in all modern mobile games where you meed to start paying to keep playing, at leaat competitively. Modern mobile game development is a disgrace and this one follows the model but it does take much longer i. ultimate golf than any game I've played in the last year or two. You can play for hours before you inevitably must start shelling out money if you want to be able to compete. So it's an underhanded compliment but it is one. Summary: Fun for a while.
Great game with fantastic graphics and realistic play! My biggest complaint is that you are required to buy way to much in order to be able to play your best golf. I can see charging for upgrades that improve your game and give you an edge but the prices and cost to do so are WAY to much! I'm sure that with the popularity of this game they are making a killing! It's a bit to much and I know I'd spend more if I got more for my money!
Similar in game play to others like Golf Clash. I have 2 main issues which keeps my rating low: 1) fairways are unpredictable and there's no way to read them. I'll hit a tee shot so that it lands perfectly down the middle, but then it'll suddenly veer almost 90 degrees down a slope and head into the rough 2) The putting indicator is VERY misleading. I'll line up a putt and it'll light up green, meaning correct speed and line, but even when I time the release perfectly sometimes it'll still miss.
I had very high hopes for this game. Graphics and scenery are pretty good. Game mechanics need great improvement. Ball alignment, power and control are not consistent from shot to shot. Also ball distance and direction are greatly effected with little to no interference from power of swing, wind, environment or equipment. 1 last thing... hard to concentrate on your ball when you see othe player's balls move past your shot. This game was a HUGE let down.
I love the challenge of the game. But the game is apparently rigged, for instance: while playing a tied game round, I noticed that the opponent had a club that was 15 yards less than mine in distance. I had a head wind to shoot against, so I pulled it all the way back past normal and didn't make it to the green. Opponent won by getting well onto green! That should not happen!!!
The Most Inconsistent play I've ever seen on a Golf Game. Slow switching from aim to shoot. If you hear the time and your still in aim then you have lost a stroke. By the time it closes, goes to options and select swing the timer is at 2 seconds. Lost several strokes waiting on game play. Try to sell me something between every transition to home screen. Just overall a poor gaming experience. 0 stars!
Of all the golf games I've played over the years, this one by far has the best graphics, easiest controls and awesome prizes and incentives to keep you playing for free, not getting stuck in corners set up to force you to pay to play on. I've probably spent $15 or $20 here and there but because I wanted something, not needed it to play on or get an unfair advantage. And I love the temperamental adjustments you have to make just like real play, if they're on, you're rewarded, off, you'll pay!👍
It's a fun game for a while, then the "challenging" aspects start becoming random. Same club, same wind, same shot, different effect. I even started using a stylus for my putts to make sure my finger didn't pull the the aim off on putts, still manage to have "perfect" shots rim out randomly. Sometimes you'll have a great round where the ball just seeks out the hole, sometimes you'll miss a 5 foot putt. It's like real golf except you can pay to have the frustration be reduced.
Good game. I love that you don't need to take turns, you play at the same time as your opponent. But it has 1 major issue: if the timer gets below 10 you're basically screwed because the animation is too slow. If you're not already lined up to take your shot, forget it. You need to tap the Shoot button, which then takes 3 seconds to bring you to the next screen, then you need to time your shot. That needs to be fixed.
With no single player mode this game forces you to play only multiplayer matches. They repeat the courses too often so it becomes very repetitive. You can't change clubs which is extremely frustrating when you are on the fairway right next to the green therefore you have to chip the ball in rather than putting. Hitting the ball has some of the best controls I've seen in these type of games, but unfortunately putting makes it so easy even from the longest distance. We need a Mario golf remake!!
Great graphics. Great courses. Terrible controls. Extremely glitchy. Unrealistic physics. I have given my honest review multiple times but the game developers report most bad reviews as abuse to make sure their overall rating isn't tarnished. There seems to be a correlation to the intermittent issue with the controls where you have no consistency. I will resubmit this review until it sticks because it's the truth! It's now just another "pay to continue to play" in most people's book.
Love this game! It has the best golf graphics ever! I like the Royals and the competition. The tournaments are good for earning some fast cash, and I love 💕 the ultimate cup rewards. BUT I have a few complaints. It is super frustrating when the match starts but you are still on the loading screen. Also,the putt meter is a little glitchy. And last of all,even when you put backspin on the ball, it bounces on the green like crazy.
Really used to be fun. Enjoyed the new content and modes they added. However, an update or two ago has left it completely unplayable. Sitting on a "loading assets" bar that just freezes the entire game. Restart it, still fails to work. End up timing out on head to heads or not being able to join tournaments or earn anything. Very poor on the updates. Lost a star as now the game won't even get past the load screen. Might want to fix those bugs.
Update: This game is beyond rigged. It makes head to head games impossible to win at points, trying to force you to buy coins. Same club and ball as opponent yet totally different ball flight. Should not be able to hit consistent accurate shots yet still lose 20 games in a row. Wind direction switches every shot which is also annoying and unrealistic. I have had balls hit the pin and "miss" and end up exactly behind the pin. Physics disagrees. Could be fun if the playing field was always even.
Good like most Miniclip games but had to lower to 4 stars because the putting aiming is killing me. It's super hard to make small adjustments. I can move my finger 10-15mm & nothing happens. Then it suddenly jumps way past where you were trying to aim. Very annoying especially when timed. Also, when the aim is good, when u lift your finger it suddenly jumps to one side or the other. This sucks... If you aimed & clicked a button to shoot would be best. Might have to give up on it if not fixed
Well at the beginning when you first get started everything seems to be ok and then when you start getting further into the game the controls seem to get messed up and never hit the same. Then it forces you either to play in a tournament or against someone would have liked to see free play to figure out different clubs but instead you waste your coins definitely will not be redownloading this game.
I think the wind percentage should be looked into. The only complaint I have. At different times wind for ex. If it's to the right and at 8.7. if I position the where I want the ball to go. One time it's okay, but another at the position it goes all the way over by five yds. I don't understand how it's different from one time to the next. Another thing, the putting slips when you release. It moves and makes you miss if I don't adjust. Outside of that, great game.... Thnx
The game itself is okay for a golf game. The problem I have with this game are the constant disconnects from their servers. It’s frustrating because when this happens during a match, it causes you to lose automatically, even if you were winning the match. I’d avoid downloading until they have the dreaded "Waiting on Servers" stability issues resolved. Download WGT golf. It’s a much better game with better graphics, and more importantly it DOESN’T HAVE SERVER ISSUES!!!
It's a great game with awesome graphics. BUT... as with any game it asks for money. You can play the normal game and collect coins and such but if you end up wanting to replay a tournament it's sometimes ask for in game coins which is easy enough, but other time itll ask for unreasonable "cash" amounts, not so easy to get. Also, a practice option would be nice maybe in the form of a driving range or top shot range with targets that could get you points and prizes for certain achievements.
I really love the game of golf and Ultimate Golf has been one of the better ones concerning graphics and variety of games within the game itself! One of my frustrations with this game it seems whenever I hit the Ultimate Golf Shot the ball 9 of 10 or 8 of 10 times ends up in the rough, water or out of bounds, it would seem to me that it would end up reasonably closer to the hole rather than fringe or rough and a good lie on the fairway! Other than that keep up the good work!
Great EVERYTHING as far as game play. But you HAVE to spend money to play it for any length of time. The match up algorithm sets you up against someone with 400+ trophies when you have 150.... So you get throttled and lose coins. I had 40,000 coins which I had to BUY with a special they offered. Lost them all in a couple of days. Totally rigged game, not many ads though so that's cool. I'll just uninstall it and save my money. 😔
Like the idea about this game, the graphics and the controls. The biggest and unforgivable issue is, that the game engine is incredible bad. One time you have wind that pushes the ball like a hurricane and then the next time the same wind has zero influence. The engine issues forces me to uninstall this game and give it zero stars. 08/06/21 Sadly, I can't lower the stars, after getting a non-answer from the programmers. On top, it seems that this problem is ongoing and they never fix the issue.
Pro: The courses are beautiful. Con: The wind can drastically reverse direction and speed between shots; not something you'd experience on a real course. Con: There is no way to play solo, no putting, chipping, or driving practice, other than head-to-head against someone/tournament. Not certain I wish to spend any more money in this game.
Worked very good and really enjoyed the game. In a shootout the little squares on the course identifying where a person's ball is actually gets in your way aiming your shot, very distracting. Also, once I reached a certain level none of my shots were not going anywhere near where I was aiming. Got thoroughly disgusted at this happening so I uninstalled the game!
If I could rate it zero stars, I would. Yet another "pay to succeed" game. Expect an extremely frustrating experience. The graphics are good, but the physics are ridiculously inconsistent at best. The matching algorithm is awful, when you're level 2 you'll be playing level 8 players with far superior equipment and premium balls. Definitely not a game I would spend money on, and finally uninstalled because the matchups are absolutely ridiculous. Save yourself the aggravation. Play ANY other game.
The game itself is great. Fun, lots of options to choose from for clubs, etc. Lots of rewards you can earn. What is keeping this from from 4 or 5 star review is the oversaturation of ads in the game to purchase things. It is a constant bombardment of multiple ads almost every time you get to a screen. Maybe around the perimeter would be fine, but when they are pop-ups it is very annoying. After reading more reviews I've decided to uninstall the game. Too much of pay to play for too high a cost
This game is a clone of Golf Clash and has the same flaws. The one improvement they made was that both players shoot at the same time. Unnecessary animations interrupt the speed of game play way too often. Once you develop some skill, nearly every match will be a tie & tie breakers will be super close to the point of getting lucky enough to be closer by inches. Needs some sort of rewards for both players in tie games, otherwise too much wasted time on games that come down to luck. Uninstalling.
This app has alot good things I like. Graphics are great. Fun to play with others. The biggest problem it has is connecting and staying connected to it's own server. You can start a tournment play a few holes. Then the suddenly the next hole there is a loss of graphics. The course is blacked out. Some parts of the vidio are there, but not the full vidio. It frustrates the player. If you close the program. Then restart the program. You get the ballon; unable to connect to the server.
